Verizon Offering Free Disney+ Subscription for One Year

Verizon today announced that it will be offering its customers a one-year Disney+ subscription for free. The move likely stems from Apple’s own promotional offer in which it is offering new iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV owners a free Apple TV+ subscription for a year.

Verizon is offering free Disney+ subscription to all its new and existing subscribers. It is also extending the offer to its Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers.

In tandem with the Disney+ November 12 launch, Verizon will become the exclusive wireless carrier to offer 12 months of Disney+ to all new and existing 4G LTE and 5G unlimited wireless customers. Verizon will also offer 12 months of Disney+ to its new Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers.

This roughly translates into a saving of 84$ or more for existing Verizon subscribers. And if you recently purchased a new iPhone and are eligible for a free Apple TV+ subscription, you are looking at a total savings of $144.

Apple TV+ is scheduled to launch on November 1st for $4.99/month while Disney+ will launch on November 12 for $6.99/month. It was widely expected that Apple TV+ will cost more than Disney+ but Apple surprised everyone by pricing its streaming service very competitively. Also Read:8K Video Downloaders

Disney+ will have a wider and more expansive content library than Apple TV+, but Apple has managed to woo in millions of subscribers for its TV streaming service by offering it for free to new customers iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Real Fixes for Facebook Messenger Not Working on iPhone/iPad (iOS 13/12 Supported)

Part 1. Facebook Messenger Not Working Issues

The following are just some common issues users struggle with when using Facebook Messenger.

1.1 Facebook Messenger Won’t Display Messages

The whole point of Facebook Messenger is the ability to display messages. If this isn’t happening, then you know that the app is really having issues. But before you try to fix the issue, make sure that the device is connected to the internet. When there is no connection, you will be unable to see messages on the app.

1.2 Facebook Messenger Won’t Deliver or Receive Messages

Another common issue users face with Facebook Messenger. It can be caused by a small software issue or a connectivity one. It may also be a good idea to check if your friends have blocked you. If they have marked your messages as Spam, you may not be able to send or receive messages on the app.

1.3 Facebook Messenger Won’t Open

Then there are times when you try to open the app and it crashes or doesn’t open as it should. In this case, the problem could be caused by a virus or some other software issue. It is also quite easy to fix since most of the time all you have to do is update the App or delete it and re-install it.

1.4 Facebook Messenger Crashes after iOS  Update

An iOS update has been known to interfere with certain functions of your iPhone. There are some users who have reported that Facebook Messenger crashed immediately after an update. In this case, a software bug may be to blame and Apple more often than not offers an update that will fix the app or any other issues you may be having after the update.

2.2 Restart the App

This can be a great way to fix the Facebook Messenger app if it is frozen or unresponsive. Here’s how to restart the app.
Step 1: Double-tap on the home button to open the list of recently used apps.
Step 2: Find Facebook Messenger and then swipe up to close it.
Now reopen the app and see if it works.

2.3 Update or Reinstall the App

If the app is still unresponsive, you may need to update or reinstall. To update the app go to the App Store and locate the Facebook Messenger app to see if there is an update. Proceed to update the app and it should work just fine.
If there is no update, consider reinstalling the app completely. To do that, find the Facebook Messenger icon on your home screen. Tap and hold the app until it jiggles and an “X” shows up. Tap on the “X” to delete it. Now go to the App Store to reinstall it.

2.4 Restart the iPhone

A restart of your device is always a good idea when you are facing any problems with it including Facebook Messenger issues. To restart the device press and hold the power button or both right and left side buttons on the iPhone X until you see a slider appear. Slide to turn off the device. Turn on the device and then try the Facebook Messenger app again. Also Read:Like iDope to Search for Torrent Files in 2019

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and then tap on General.
Step 2: Tap on “Reset”.

iOS 12 Adoption Rate Reaches 88% Ahead of iOS 13 Release

Ahead of iOS 13 release next month, Apple has revealed that iOS 12 is now running on 88% of active iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices out there. The data is based on the devices which accessed the App Store on August 6, 2019.

7% of active iOS devices continue to run on iOS 11 while 5% are running an older version of the OS. Around the same time last year, iOS 11 was running on 85% of active iOS devices out there. This means that iOS 12 adoption rate is higher when compared to iOS 11.

iOS 12 was a solid update from Apple which focused on performance improvements and enhancing the overall system stability. Thus, it is not surprising that iOS 12 has a higher adoption rate than iOS 11. The latter was plagued with a number of bugs and negatively affected the performance of many old iOS devices which made users apprehensive of upgrading to it.

The adoption rate of iOS 13 is also likely going to be higher than iOS 12 due to the massive number of features it brings to the table. And Apple has managed to do that without negatively affecting the performance of its older devices. iOS 12 will likely continue to have a sizeable market share a few months after the release of iOS 13 since the latter drops support for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 — both of which are still popular among users. If you lost data after you updated to a new iPhone, you can always use Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery to get the data back from the old iPhone or backup. You may also like: iphonerecovery.com

Apple Releases Third Public Betas of iOS 13 and iPadOS

Apple today released the third public betas of iOS 13 and iPadOS to its public beta testing group, 10 days after seeding the second public betas and a day after the fourth developer beta. The public beta gives non-developers a chance to test out iOS 13 ahead of its upcoming fall launch date.

Beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program will receive the iOS 13beta update over-the-air after installing the proper certificate on an iOS device.

Those who want to join the beta testing program can sign up on Apple's beta testing website, which gives users access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas. Before installing a beta, make sure to create a full encrypted iTunes backup or an iCloud backup. It's best to install iOS 13 on a secondary device because beta software is not always stable and can include bugs.

iOS 13 is a major update to the iOS operating system that runs on the iPhone and the iPad, but this year, iOS 13 and iPadOS, the version of iOS 13 that runs on the iPad, are separate downloads as they've been split up.

iPadOS is identical to iOS 13 in almost every way, though there are some iPad-specific features such as new multitasking capabilities. For the most part, the two operating systems share the same features.

iOS 13 introduces a long list of new features. Dark Mode changes the entire look of the operating system, shifting it from light to dark, while an overhauled Photos app makes it easier to relive your memories with new Days, Months, and Years viewing options.

There's a new photo editing interface that makes it easier to edit photos than ever before, plus there are new tools to work with and options to edit the intensity of the built-in filters. You can edit video right in the Photos app for the first time, and on the newest iPhones, there's a new High-Key Mono lighting effect and an option to adjust the intensity of Portrait Lightning effects.

There's a less obtrusive volume HUD, a new Find My app that combines Find My iPhone and Find My Friends and lets you track your devices even with they don't have an LTE or WiFi connection. A Sign In with Apple feature (not yet active) gives you a convenient and data safe way to sign into apps and websites, providing an alternative to Facebook and Google sign in options.

Maps has a new street-level "Look Around" mode and a Collections feature for making lists of places, Reminders has been entirely overhauled to make it more functional, there's a profile feature in Messages along with new Memoji and Animoji stickers, and Siri has a new voice.

The third public beta should correspond to the fourth developer beta, which brought a new Quick Action for rearranging apps, Share Sheet updates, new 3D Touch settings, and more, with changes available in our what's new in beta 4 article

There are a ton of additional new features and changes coming in iOS 13, and for a full rundown of what you can expect, make sure to check out our iOS 13 roundup.Sponsor ads:

China Responds to Huawei Ban by Threatening to Blacklist U.S Firms

China has officially retaliated at the U.S by stated that it will establish a list of “unreliable ” entities that damage the interests of domestic companies. This move is expected to affect several foreign firms doing business in China and Apple is one of them.

As part of this rule, China will set up a process aimed at identifying foreign enterprises that break the rules, violate contracts and cut off supply for non-commercial reasons. Gao Feng, Ministry of Commerce spokesman said “Necessary measures will be taken” against those on the list.

The trade wars between the U.S and China has already escalated to an unprecedented level. The U.S Government has blocked Huawei from selling equipment in the U.S and buy parts from American suppliers. China has responded by targetting American tech companies like Google, Qualcomm, and Intel.

This weekend the U.S is all set to implement higher tariff duties on goods entering from China. Meanwhile, Beijing has already outlined its very own retaliation plan. The negotiations between the U.S and China went sour after Trump accused China of backing from a deal. Meanwhile, Chinese officials blamed it on Americans raising their demands.

Michelle Lam, Greater China economist at Societe Generale SA was quoted as follows, “Surely companies that have announced cutting supplies to Huawei, such as Panasonic and Toshiba, would be under threat.” He further added that “It could be very damaging to multinational companies.”
Our Take

The long-running trade dispute between the U.S and China has shaken the financial markets. Companies like Apple are affected the most. In fact, the trade war had also triggered a stock market sell-off in recent weeks. The pale economic outlook is only expected to worsen the situation.

Apple uses American Technology and gets devices built in Chinese factories owned by Taiwanese companies. Apple has already revealed that iPhone sales in China have fallen sharply. Analysts have predicted that the trade war could mean a sharp 29% drop in the company’s total global profits. Meanwhile, the “Boycott Apple” moment seems to be picking stream in China.

We hope that both the U.S and China iron out the differences and come up with a robust sustainable foreign trade policy.Sponsor ads:

Apple Poaches Longtime Disney Executive for Apple TV+

Ahead of the launch of Apple TV+ later this year, Apple has poached Chiara Cipriani, a Disney veteran, as the director of video services in London. Cipriani worked at Disney for about a decade and has worked on DisneyLife and the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.

Apple has poached a number of employees from other entertainment companies in a bid to bolster its efforts on Apple TV+.

This fall will see the launch of two major streaming service: Apple TV+ and Disney+. While both companies have announced their respective streaming services, Disney is the only one to have unveiled the monthly subscription price of $7/month. In comparison, while Apple has provided quite a few details about Apple TV+, it is still not clear as to how much the service will cost monthly.

Apple is working on a number of original content for its streaming service involving some big names. This includes shows featuring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Ocativa Spencer, Hailee Steinfeld, and more. However, when the service initially launches, it will feature content licensed by Apple from other players. Apple’s original content will make its way to the platform a few months down the line.

In comparison, Disney+ will launch with Disney’s massive library of content which is going to be a good enough reason for most people to subscribe to the service. The company has already started pulling its content from other streaming platforms as the launch of its streaming service nears. Disney is also working on a number of original TV shows for its streaming platform involving some of its popular characters and movies including a live-action Star Wars series, Loki starring Tom Hiddleston from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more. Also Read:Best free Beat making software
